Learn2Row
Have you been inspired by many of our famous names in rowing?
Do you want to race at Henley or compete in local races?
Are you looking for a sport that is fantastic for a full body workout?
Or do you wish to do social recreational rowing?
Over the years Newark Rowing Club has introduced hundreds of people to this fantastic sport and some have attained world status. We are on an excellent stretch of the River Trent and have a very good fleet of boats to suit all abilities. We offer both taster days and structured Learn To Row Courses.
Why learn to row?
Rowing is a team sport for men and women of all ages. It is a non-impact sport and great for strength and stamina. Our courses are mixed and open to anyone over 18 years old.
How does the course work?
Each one consists of a small group with coaches ensuring you get an all round knowledge of the skills required. You will also be shown how to handle the boats on and off the water and river safety.
Courses run for 6 weeks with 2hr sessions, usually on a Saturday/Sunday morning. Please contact Newark Rowing Club Secretary.
NEXT LEARN TO ROW COURSE:

Taster Sessions
We also offer taster sessions, which are informal morning sessions lasting a couple of hours (10am to Midday). These give you the chance to have a look around our fantastic facilities, try out a rowing machine and maybe get on the water in one of our stable training boats.
Coxing
We’re always pleased to welcome an interest in learning to cox as well as row.
